A friend of mine swears by these stick on heat pads, they activate once you open them and reduce menstruation pain, they are very cheaply available in supermarkets.

Electropulse therapy sounds interesting but I wonder how safe it is?

Stress is related to period pain- so we have to take it easy!

Period Pain is partly caused by stress. When you look at the biochemical pathways, cortisol, your stress hormone is made from progesterone.

So when you are stressed, you have a higher demand for cortisol and this robs your body of progesterone. When progesterone is low, period pain is caused.

Don't we do too much this day and age! We live in a society of "busyness", so it is really important to take time out.

Take up meditation or yoga or prayer. Walk in nature when you can. And in the midst of a stressful day, take a deep breath. All these things help to balance you cortisol (stress) levels and thus you are able to keep your progesterone levels at a normal level.

Your female intution is looking after you! It is saying 'Slow Down' and 'Take It Easy'.

I have found that even doing some relaxation techniques while you have your period pain, can help to reduce the pain.

Go on, make sure you have some 'Me Time' and Live Life The Whole Month Through.

Ashley,

I tend to disagree with Ace. Endometriosis is a build up of the endometrial lining. While you may have a fungal growth, that is not endometriosis.

Endometriosis is usually caused by excessive estrogen that is either over produced or can't be eliminated from your body.

While you may need it removed, I do agree with Ace, in that it doesn't fix the cause of the problem.

I'm a naturopath in Australia, and the issues that need to be addressed are making sure you can eliminate estrogen properly ie. making sure you have a bowel movement everyday and doing a detox that makes sure the Cytochrome P450 pathways are working properly. You also need to look at eliminating pesticides and herbicides and foods that are wrapped in plastic from your environment.

I would recommend that you see a naturopath that will address these things.

Good luck on your health jouney!
